How to survive a break up
Breaking up is hard to do. During a break up, you might feel hurt, lonely, resentful, angry, mislead, confused, or jealous. Fortunately, we listed several simple tips below to help you recover from a broken heart.
- Accept your emotions. It is perfectly normal to feel anger and sadness. Divorces and breakups create a sense of loss. It is common to experience feelings of denial, anger, bargaining, and depression. It is also common to have mood swings. one minute you may be happy the person is gone and next minute you might feel angry.
- Do something for yourself. When you are going through a breakup, it is extremely important to take care of yourself. Many experts recommend that you pamper yourself with special treats such as getting a manicure, pedicure, facial, or a massage.
- Surround yourself with friends and family who care about you. Spend time doing things together, not just talking and thinking about the break up. If this isn’t enough, think about going to a support group or a counselor.
- Resist the urge to beg them to come back to you. If there is a chance you can work things out, go for it. However, if your ex partner has made it clear that the relationship is over, begging will not help and will probably make matters worse.

- Make the best of your new free time. Take a class, join a gym, join a social group, plant the garden you've always wanted, adopt a pet, or volunteer. Do things that will make you feel good about yourself.
- Learn from your mistakes. Don’t beat yourself up. When you think about your mistakes, be sure to accept that you are not a failure. Don't forget to think about the positive things you have learned from the relationship.
- Start Dating. Immediately after a break up, the last thing you will want to do is date. However, as time goes on, think about the type of person you want to be with. Going out with other people can help the healing process and boast your ego.
- Don’t rush into a new romantic relationship. Take time to heal before making any commitments or someone will probably end up getting hurt.
